Phalanx recently worked with our favorite university partner, Harrisburg University on their eSports team identity and brand assets. The project came about as the program came into being and the HU team started to catch fire with the PR for it. Harrisburg University eSports goal is to provide a strong uniting point for its student body and the community behind a new sport for the central, PA area. The program received national press from multiple ESPN stories as well as a piece on HBO News and the next step was to get the brand in place.
Phalanx was happy to work with the HU team to develop the naming for the team as well as it’s brand and merchandise. Phalanx conducted research both within the gamer community and the professional team staff we are connected with to create something that would be successful and provide a brand with longevity. Phalanx developed several naming options as well as the path for the identity in terms of assets needed and a plan for production. In the end we developed an incredibly well-received brand and merchandise strategy.
Coming down to the end of the prep time for the reveal press conference Phalanx was approached to provide a landing page website and video production piece for the presser. With two weeks till the event, our team buried the needle and designed and developed a responsive web presence for the team and video presentation for the brand. As a final piece to the puzzle Phalanx worked with the architects of the arena space that the team will utilize at Whittaker Center in Harrisburg to build a styled and fantastic experience for the players and spectators. Look for more on this when we are able to share it.
